persistence of vision

he cried
i bled
we turned
the carpets red
we tried to start
to fix the broken parts
the door is open and
my head is spinning round
the way is chosen and it's only
going down

one moment : pictures and light, one chosen
one left behind

he broke the skin, i couldn't let him win
i stand apart, this time i've gone too far
my head is open and the floor is spinning round
the way is chosen and it's only going down

one moment : pictures and light, one chosen
one left behind

Persistence of vision is how our brains see movies. Single
stills run in rapid succession : pictures and light. An apt
metaphor for destiny, at least to my mind. It is interesting
how we believe that we chose our own path in life only to
get to the end of the road and find there was only this one
destination.
